Welcome !

I would like to welcome you to our Cub Scout Pack 167's Web Site. As you can see there is a tremendous amount of information provided so please use this site as your first stop in trying to answer questions about our Pack. Pack 167 was founded in 1956 and we are currently the largest Pack in the Sycamore District. Right now we have about 90 Cub Scouts from Lake in the Hills and Huntley. Due to our growth over the years, we have split into 2 sister Packs - #267 (Square Barn Rd and Leggee Campuses) and #467 (Square Barn Rd Campus). Most scouts in our pack attend school at the Reed Rd Campus, but any boy or girl can join a pack regardless of their school's location. All children interested in scouting can start as early as kindergarten (new Lions program) all the way through 5th grade, so we welcome all newcomers! Please click on our "New Parent Information" tab for more information about Cub Scouts and how to get registered.

Popcorn Sales Announcement

Posted by dbarker on Sep 30 2019 - 4:23pm

Popcorn season has officially begun (at least online). Sales officially start on 9/21. Popcorn sales are our number one generator for funding for the pack.  We ask that each scout does “their best” with achieving our goal of a successful popcorn season.

Cub Scout Camping and Earning Rank

Posted by dbarker on Apr 12 2019 - 5:38am

Why is camping in Cub Scouts important to a Scout?

  • Camping takes your child on exciting adventures into the natural world.
  • Your child will learn to live with others in the out-of-doors.
  • Your child will learn to be a good citizen of the outdoors.
  • Camping is fun, and it's good for your child's mind, body, and spirit.
  • It helps your child learn to rely on himself / herself — on their own skills and knowledge.
  • When your child goes camping as a Cub Scout, they will get skills that they will learn and use more, later, as a Boy Scout.

Every rank now requiries that a Scout attends a Pack campout and or activly plan and participate in a Pack campfire to earn rank.  We are very lucky that our Pack has the opportunity to camp anywhere between 7 and 10 times a year!  The rank adventures are expected to be earned as written.
